| Embryonic Stem Cell research
is at the leading edge of Medical Research.
It is not without controversy. The California
Institute for Regenerative Medicine is a California
State agency that was
established through the passage of Proposition 71, the
“California Stem Cell Research and Cures Initiative.”
The CIRM funds scientists and
facilities for this work. UCSF was awarded this CIRM
grant in 2007, to develop HSE 16th Floor S/M Rooms 1661-1679
Stem Cell Teaching
& Shared Research Laboratory. BlakeDrucker Architects
assisted in the writing of a CIRM grant to fund the
creation of shared research
facilities for hESC (Human Embryonic Stem cell Research)
and to fund teaching facilities to teach other researchers
techniqures of derivation and propogation of cells.
