The Francis I Proctor Foundation for research in Ophthalmology is an internationally-reknowned, privately endowed research institute at U.C. San Francisco. BlakeDrucker Architects remodeled a Laboratory and Equipment room for the Proctor Foundation's research in Ocular Immunology.
The project was built within the tight confines of an existing wood structure's ground floor. The project included a tissue culture room, a microscopy room with precise lighting controls, a microsurgery area, and a separate equipment room with two fume hoods and two full darkrooms.
