Laboratories
Design for Research

We have been privileged to work with this country's most amazing scientists in the fields as varied as Liver Transplantation, Stomatology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Genomics, Superconductivity, Lasers and Chemistry.Organization of the research environment is key to our success. Coordination with Mechanical Systems, Electrical and Plumbing Systems allow a researcher to be up and productive immediately.

We are a national resource for design of laboratories for people with disabilities. We have lectured at the AIAEB, and The American Chemical Society National Meeting on the Design of Accessible Laboratories. We participated in the 2001 publicat edition of "Teaching Chemistry to Students with Disabilities. See Page 44 for the graphic that illustrates how the hood we invented functions in a day with multiple heights. http://membership.acs.org/C/CWD/TeachChem4.pdf .

The AAAS also has a remarkable resource http://ehrweb.aaas.org/entrypoint/pubs.htm

Disabilities Access
BDA Strategies

The American Disabilities Act is Civil Rights Legislation. BDA has been designing for accessibility since 1972, 19 years before former President Bush signed this law.

We are a contributor to the handbook "Teaching Chemistry to Students with Disabilities" that was published by the American Chemical Society. Our prototypical accessible chemistry workstation won an "Excellence in Universal Design" award given by the NEA.
