We Do It
Better
Time Up Front
BDA hates to see a person struggling to wiggle a power
cord behind a full file cabinet. So we layout rooms
full with equipment so we can communicate electrical
device location. Now, you see, an electrician on site
will look only at the elctrical drawings so if a clearance
is important, we will ask our electrical engineer to
put the dimension to the center of the device.
During construction we review each box and we sign
each box when it is tacked in place. Move a box? Sure,
all electricians will say with a smile.
If we ask him to do this when conduit is already attached,
he may move it but the smile is not broad, if at all.
Ask him to move a box when there are wires are attached,
take out your check book.
BDA is proud of a very low change order rate for our
projects.
Up front preparation that pays off in construction
is field investigation by consultants. there is nothing
like going into a space and seeing what is there. There
are no "as builts" that can compete with eyes
on.
